Assistant Professor, Jindal Global law School
B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) (Delhi University); B.C.L. (Oxford University)
Mr. John Sebastian is an Assistant Professor, Jindal Global Law School. I've just finished my BCL at Oxford, where I received an overall distinction. I cleared the NET examination held in December 2015 and was awarded a JRF as well in the process.
I read for my undergraduate degree at National Law University, Delhi and worked under Justice Madan B Lokur of the Supreme Court of India as a law clerk. I also ranked 309 in the All India Civil Services Examination held in 2013 and was allotted the Indian Revenue Service (I.T.), though I didn’t take it up.
I’ve also worked with the National Advisory Council (NAC) and NCPRI on the issue of minimum wages under the MGNREGA and conducted research on ‘Pre- Legislative Processes’ for a report placed before the Union Government. I’ve also worked on a UNDP-GOI Project on Access to Justice that involved intervention and research on the implementation of construction labour related laws. I’ve also researched and published reports and articles on other labour issues, such as on Rickshaws and the Self-Employed, and on Domestic Workers.
I'm interested in the fields of jurisprudence and political theory, constitutional law, comparative law, criminal justice and human rights, the Sociology of Law, and labour laws.
