Kshitij Bansal specialises in International Trade & Investment Law with academic interests in public affairs and public policy writing as well. He has practised Competition Law while working with the then India’s largest law firm, Amarchand Mangaldas at Mumbai (now Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas).
Bansal is the Founding President of International Policy Analysis Network (IPAN). IPAN is Asia’s first youth-led public policy think tank (www.ipan.in). It constitutes a network of university students and early career professionals spread across the globe who are motivated to work on contemporary public policy matters. Some of IPAN’s major activities include coming out with regular articles and research briefs, a DAAD funded scholarship, capacity building projects & providing legislative and policy feedback to the governments.
With a bachelors degree in Law from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, India, he studied the International Economic Law & Policy (IELPO) LLM programme at University of Barcelona in the year 2014. Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab awarded him with the highest medal of the University, The Chancellor’s Medal for the Best Overall Performance along with three other Gold Medals for Academic Excellence.
An engaging public speaker and an outspoken debater, he is fiercely liberal in his thoughts and centre-leftist in political ideology. He is an active research scholar with more than thirty papers/articles having been published in leading journals, magazines and newspapers. He was also the Robert Bosch Stiftung Scholar for the year 2012. Bansal represented India as the Head of State at G20 Youth Summit 2012, Washington D.C. and was also the UNESCO Youth Peace Ambassador 2012.
Apart from his academic and professional engagements, Bansal splits his time between a fitness routine and singing. He regularly records covers for Mohd. Rafi, Sonu Nigam and Arijit songs. During some free time over the weekends, you can find him in one of South Delhi’s popular breweries.
