Sachin Dhawan Esq. is Assistant Professor and Assistant Director, Centre for Law and Humanities, Jindal Global Law School [JGLS]. He teaches constitutional law. His scholarly work has focused on the intersection of religion and law in India. In addition, he has written for the Hindustan Times and India Legal on subjects ranging from electoral politics to the Uniform Civil Code. Professor Dhawan was closely involved in the conception and formation of the Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities, established in 2014.
He was a member of the task force on liberal arts which undertook to evaluate the need and demand for liberal arts education in India. He was also part of the curriculum development committee which prepared a vision paper and concept note that looked into the finer details of starting the liberal arts programme. Before becoming a part of the faculty at JGLS Professor Dhawan worked for the New Delhi think tank PRS Legislative Research. He completed his B.A. degree in Economics and History from Amherst College cum laude and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
