Sumit Baudh is Associate Professor and Executive Director of the Centre on Public Law and Jurisprudence at the Jindal University. Formerly, a British Chevening scholar, and having held prestigious fellowship positions at the Center for Intersectionality and Social Policy Studies, Columbia Law School, the Transnational Law Institute Fellow, King’s College London, University of California Human Rights Fellow, Michael D. Palm Fellow of the Williams Institute, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law, Prof. Baudh received his Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) from the UCLA School of Law, his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the London School of Economics, and graduated with honors as Bachelor of Laws and Arts (B.A. LL.B. Hons.) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He is qualified to practice law as an Advocate in India and enrolled as Solicitor n.p. with The Law Society, England and Wales. Prof. Baudh has published widely in the areas of law, human rights, caste, gender and sexuality. As an independent consultant, Prof. Baudh has advised national and international organizations including the U.S. based Arcus Foundation, the United Nations Development Program, the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, Norway based LLH, and Hindustan Unilever (amidst others). As an amateur artist, Prof. Baudh has developed some of his research ideas into art projects that have been shown in Philadelphia and in Delhi; also an amateur runner, Prof. Baudh has three full-marathons under his belt.
