MDP's the need of the hour for capacity building

Jindal Institute of Leadership Development and Executive Education in collaboration with Jindal Global Business School recently conducted a successful Management Development Programme for IAS and Central Civil Service Officers. The 5 day long MDP focused on Leadership and Stress Management.

The Vice Chancellor Prof C. Raj Kumar while addressing the officers emphasised on the need for global outreach in the area of executive education, he said "One of the key focus areas of the university is continuously working toward capacity building and engaging with the outside world. The leadership development programme is aimed at equipping executives with skills required for value creation."

The inaugural address was delivered by Peter DeSouza, Former Director, Indian Institute of Advance Studies. The other speakers included Irfan A Rizvi, Director General, Jaypee Business School, Dr. Sreekumar Menon, IRS, Director General, National Academy of Customs Excise and Narcotics, Ashutosh Sinha, renowned Business journalist amongst others.

The MDP was highly appreciated by the participating officers who felt that the course was well structured and relevant.  Says a senior IPS officer "the course is not only well structured but also delivered by some excellent resource people, I have attended many a courses but this one is by far one of the most relevant "

Another officer form the Central Civil Services says "not only was the course design and delivery world class but so is the infrastructure and other facilities at O.P. Jindal Global university, overall a thumbs up experience". A senior IAS, woman officer said "It's an upcoming university with a fine set of faculty and a good campus. I can say with confidence that the university will grow to be one of the premier educational centers of India."

Another IFS officer while expressing his satisfaction with the experience said "Pleasantly surprised to see a modern university striving to achieve something different from the others who have been following the beaten track, wishing the university grand success."

The MDP concluded with a valedictory function and Lt. Gen. (Retd) Dr. Rajesh Kochhar, Head of JILDEE, thanked the officers for choosing the institute for the training and reiterated the vision and mission of the Jindal Institute of Leadership Development and Executive Education, he said, "the institute will continue promoting leadership development at the highest levels of decision-making within corporations, government agencies, public sector organisations, NGO's, regulatory bodies and other institutions."
