Prof. Nemika Jha is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal Global Law School. Ms. Jha graduated from The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata in 2005. At NUJS, Ms. Jha was awarded the University Gold Medal for first rank in class, Sir Asutosh Mookerjee Memorial Gold Medal for best academic performance, and the R. Gopalakrishnan Saroja Gopalakrishnan Gold Medal for best student in Constitutional Law.
After graduating from NUJS, Ms. Jha joined the offices of Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co. in Mumbai as an associate in its M&A and corporate law team where she advised some of the leading financial institutions and private equity groups on their domestic and foreign investment strategy in India. In 2006, she joined the Chambers of Mr. Jaideep Gupta (Barrister-at-law and Senior Counsel at the Supreme Court of India) where she primarily worked on commercial litigation and arbitration. In 2007, Nemika went on to join the LL.M program at Harvard Law School (HLS). After graduating from HLS in 2008, she joined the Washington, DC office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP where she worked as an associate in its project finance team from September 2008 – June 2013. At Chadbourne, Nemika’s practice focused on the representation of multilateral agencies, project developers and commercial bank lenders in domestic and international project finance.
Ms. Jha will be teaching Project Finance (an elective) and Corporate Law (a mandatory course) in the Fall Semester of 2013.
